What is the aerobic threshold?
The intensity with which they carry out any physical work will determine the amount of energy needed for its realization.
If that intensity is increasing, there will come a time when the amount of energy produced by aerobic metabolism is inadequate to meet current needs. That is when the muscle will have to resort to energy production with a lack of oxygen with the consequent production of lactic acid.
The point at which aerobic metabolism is not sufficient for meet the energy demands of muscle and, therefore, need to resort to sources anaerobic (oxygen deficient) of additional energy supply is called the aerobic threshold.
This intensity can work at rates between 60% and 80% of maximum heart rate, we can go beyond the anaerobic threshold lactic acid production.

THE SPIRIT OF THE MARATHON
The marathon is a unique test, difficult and at the same time very rewarding. Perhaps what makes this experience so special is the history of each athlete, and how their lives are affected by training and finally the race.

Filmed in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia, the film reunites the cast of amateur and professional athletes. Among them, no less than Deena Kastor (the U.S. bronze medal in the marathon at the Athens Olympic Games 2004) and Daniel Njenga, the Kenyan winner of multiple marathons, who holds a personal best of 2:06:16.
